Getting started

First venue setup checklist

This is the single, ordered checklist for taking a brand-new venue from first login to genuinely ready to sell. The setup wizard covers the essentials; this adds the one thing the wizard still doesn't check — payments — so you don't "finish setup" and still be unable to take money.

The wizard's First thing to sell step now covers bookable content, so §3 below should already be done by the time you get here. It is left in as the place to check it, not as a separate job.

1. Get in and get set up

  • First login — sign in and land on the setup wizard. See Your first login.
  • Pick your modules — turn on the services you offer (bookings, coaching, camps, parties, leagues). This is the one required wizard step. See Your first module.
  • Branding — add your logo and brand colours so the public site looks like you, not a template.
  • First thing to sell — one court and one price, or your first program, or your first competition. For court hire you need both halves: a court with no casual rate is quoted at $0.
  • Finish the wizard — complete the setup wizard and mark yourself ready. This is the second required step.

2. Make it possible to take money

The wizard still doesn't check these — do them before you invite a single customer:

  • Stripe Connect — finish payment onboarding so payouts reach your bank. A venue with modules on but Connect unfinished can't actually be paid.
  • Test charge — run one test payment end-to-end and confirm it settles.

3. Make it possible to book

  • At least one bookable — a court or field with pricing, or an open program / competition. Without one, a customer has nothing to transact on.
  • Opening hours & pricing — set so availability and prices are correct.

4. Make it look real

  • Marketing home — hero and gallery reflect your venue (see add your venue photos); service pages read as yours.
  • Contact details — address, phone and hours are set (they also power your site's search listing).

5. Confirm you're ready

Run the go-live checklist — it surfaces anything still outstanding (modules, content, payments) in one view. When every required item is green, you're ready to take your first real booking. For the bigger picture, see going live and the onboarding overview.

Or ask the helper

  • Show me — ask the helper to show you, and it lights the control on your own screen while you press it.
  • Fill it in — the helper can fill the form in for you. You read it and press Save.
